Banjarmasin – The relocation of Indonesia’s new state capital (IKN) from Jakarta to East Kalimantan was greeted with great enthusiasm from various parties. One of the positive responses came from the Indonesian Consultants National Association (Inkindo) South Kalimantan.

“We hope that industrial and construction business players in South Kalimantan will later play a role in building the nation’s capital,” said the Chairman of Inkindo Kalsel, Syamsul Arifin, Thursday (17/9/2020).

He conveyed, to realize this hope, Inkindo South Kalimantan together with other similar organizations held a dialogue with the theme “Preparing Resources in Infrastructure Development to Support IKN Development” at one of the star hotels in Banjarmasin City, Thursday (17/9/2020).

“If we are not prepared from now on, we could just be spectators and be marginalized like in Jakarta. Many people build infrastructure from outside rather than locally, ”he explained.

Syamsul hopes that the relocation of the IKN can have a good impact and bring fresh air to consultants in South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, Kaltara and East Kalimantan itself.

“We don’t want to only get the negative impact. We don’t want to be spectators. So we have to unite, otherwise we will lose in competition, “he said.

Syamsul added that the results of this dialogue would be given to the government as material for recommendations. The dialogue, which was carried out virtually, presented several sources including, Member of Commission V DPR RI, Rifqi Nizami Karsayuda, Head of South Kalimantan Bappeda, Nurul Fajar Desira and the Mayor of Banjarmasin, Ibnu Sina. yus
